The number one complaint of seasoned sex therapists is the difficulty involved in motivating clients to follow through with Sensate Focus Touching , the folcrum of sex therapy. In this presentation, tried and true approaches for conceptualizing and communicating suggestions for handling common resistances and stumbling blocks at each stage will be offered. Case studies will round out this presentation.

GOALS: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the nine common problems that arise during use of Sensate Focus Assignments
2. Apply techniques for managing these common problems; and
3 .Distinguish between common problems responsive to intervention in sex therapy vs individual therapy
