Regardless of the format of work that might suit you best such as weekly meetings or daily sessions for a weekend or more, our work together will be focused on your specific individual/relationship needs. For most couples, communication, relationship enhancement through quality time and other strategies as well as remedying sexual concerns are intertwined. I work with the whole person and all aspects of the relationship.
I RECOMMEND WE BEGIN WITH A 45 minute consultation and decide from there what feels right.
Most people elect to be seen for a consultation session to explore our “fit”, and whether I seem to understand their concerns and have experience. During the Consultation, we discuss your goals, I ask clarifying questions, outline how I would work with you such as suggesting Sensate Focus touching homework, and guesstimate the number of sessions that would likely be needed.
Most of my clients elect to be seen weekly which is currently online. As progress is made, sessions usually move to twice a month, then monthly. Couples sometimes return for a “tune up” when needed.
For some couples, distance, work travel that makes scheduling difficult, demanding home environments that make privacy challenging, or a relationship crisis make the Intensive model more beneficial. Couples schedule a long weekend or a 5 day or 10 day visit to St. Louis to work intensively on the relationship and/or sexual concerns. In this format, couples are seen multiple times daily, usually resulting in rapid progress that is followed by telephone or zoom check ups to be sure progress is integrated into the pattern of your lives when you return home. To schedule a Couples Intensive, we would chat briefly by phone or zoom about your specific situation and goals, and decide together which option might be best for you.
Couples can arrange private retreats for themselves or for multiple couples at suggested scenic locations in the US or abroad. Retreats for couples are usually selected by couples who have minimal intimacy difficulties, but might benefit from a new experience together or a “tune up” for their relationship. These retreats are designed to combine relaxation, fun, skill building in communication, and commitment to an individualized plan of action on behalf of the relationship. These individualized Retreats may include daily mindfulness practice and Thai Partner Yoga alongside more traditional experiential suggestions to enhance your relationship.
I charge a standard fee for my 45 minute local sessions but Couples Intensives and Couples Retreats are individually built and priced. Please contact me at sextherapiststlouis@gmail.com for additional information on pricing and insurance or use of a Health Savings Account.
While couples are responsible for their own travel, hotel and meal costs, our travel consultant, Myra Rowan at mrowen@chichille.com will be delighted to help you with your plans.
